A townhouse development wrapping up in Willoughby earned some high honours from industry peers recently.

Miracon was a name on the Homebuilders Association Vancouver鈥檚 (HAVAN) awards list repeatedly in 2023. In fact, the Cloverdale developer was nominated in eight categories for its 91原创 project called Foundry, which is currently wrapping up construction just west of 200th Street.

Judges were so impressed by the 10-building, 106-townhouse project along 80th Avenue and 197th Street, that they bestowed Miracon with four awards, including a pair of its top honours 鈥� the Grand HAVAN awards. They were crowned best multi-family residential community, as well as multi-family home builder of the year.

The other two wins for Foundry were for best new kitchen and best outdoor amenity space.

Miracon broke ground on Foundry in January 2021 and are wrapping up this summer.

The recent recognition makes Miracon president Ryan O鈥橲hea proud, but he was quick to share credit with the company鈥檚 20 employees (between land development and residential construction).

Close to 400 HAVAN entries were juried by a peer-reviewed panel of award-winning builders, renovators, and designers from across the country. The complete list of winners can be viewed online at .

O鈥橲hea was asked specifically why he thought his latest 91原创 project was among so many other local finalists in the running for housing excellence awards this year (both HAVAN and the provincial Georgie awards)?

In addition to the HAVAN awards, Miracon was up for a number of awards from the Canadian Home Builders鈥� Association 鈥� B.C. for a number of their projects, including Foundry. In that arena, they were crowned B.C.鈥檚 best multi-family builder of the year.

鈥淚t was a great awards season for our team, as we picked up a total of seven housing awards,鈥� explained O鈥橲hea.

Earlier this year, Miracon also received the Avid gold award as the best customer service builder in B.C.

Avid Rating Canada recognizes 鈥渢op-performing鈥� builders from across Canada who deliver exceptional customer service. This year, there were 479 builders who qualified, from large developers to small, custom builders. The award is given based on a move-in survey conducted by occupants within the first 90 days of homeownership.
