Kwantlen team tops in Canada

A team of Kwantlen Polytechnic University business students finished with top marks among the Canadian universities at an international competition.

Mike Harrison, Erin Spiller and Amanda Ovenden were up against 27 other teams from 15 countries at the APEX Business IT Competition recently in Singapore.

鈥淥ur students did a 91原创enal job in Singapore,鈥 said Arthur Coren, dean of Kwantlen鈥檚 school of business. 鈥淭hey really showcased both our university and our business school on the global stage.鈥

Hosted this year by Singapore Management University, APEX Global is an annual business competition that has run for the past three years.

鈥淚t integrates different schools of thought of business and IT to produce unique case study-based challenge, which provide a forum of learning and professional development for the next generation of Business-IT leaders.

Throughout the APEX Business IT Competition, some of the world鈥檚 brightest business undergrads are challenged to analyze process, engineer and execute a series of strategies.

The competition was judged by senior managers from world-class companies including Deloitte, McKinsey and Company, Credit Suisse and Citibank.
